Lydia SmykThe annual Futouris Strategy Conference 2025 took place on September 18th and 19th at the DERTOUR Group headquarters in Frankfurt. Two inspiring days were dedicated to exchange, new ideas, and concrete plans for the sustainable transformation of the tourism industry.

Highlights of the Futouris Strategy Meeting
The first day of the conference focused on our industry project, "Biodiversity in Tourism." In workshop groups, participants developed approaches for future implementation projects to better integrate the protection and promotion of biodiversity into tourism processes.
Prof. Dr. Katharina Reuter, Managing Director of BNW, delivered an inspiring digital keynote address on "Sustainable Transformation Despite Headwinds," highlighting current developments and new perspectives on how associations and companies can jointly find answers to the major sustainability challenges of our time.
The session on "Futouris 2030 Vision" also provided valuable insights. Together with the participants, visions for the future were developed, opportunities explored, and concrete measures discussed to further advance Futouris and its members on the path to greater sustainability.
The evening was a culinary highlight: a cook-along featuring vegan delicacies provided a relaxed atmosphere for lively conversations, new connections, and creative ideas.
With many valuable insights and renewed motivation, we are now starting to implement the to-dos that emerged from these two days. Together, we will shape the future of sustainable tourism!
