Sustainable Food – Knowledge partnership with PATA

Since autumn 2017, PATA – Pacific Asian Travel Association – and Futouris e.V. have agreed to a knowledge partnership with focus on the Futouris industry project „Sustainable Food“. In January 2018, PATA launched the food waste campaign „BUFFET – Building an Understanding For Food Excess in Tourism“.

In the framework of this campaign, the BUFFET toolkit has been created which could be downloaded free of charge just by completing the request form.

In March 2018, the initiative „BUFFET for Youth“ followed. „BUFFET for Youth“ addresses the next generation of leaders in the industry explicitly. This challenge is at the crossroads of where young tourism students and the issue of food waste meet to create a future of sustainable production and consumption. Within this challenge, participants are asked to develop and eventually implement solutions to reduce food waste.

The Futouris “Guest Communication Manual“ – which was developed and compiled by MODUL University Vienna – is integrated and could be downloaded under „Challenge: plate scrapings“.

Further information focusing sustainability at PATA could be found on http://sustain.pata.org/.

Futouris is very proud to be knowledge partner of the „BUFFET Initiative“ and PATA respectively!
