Employees of Turkish TUI Blue hotels successfully trained in Sustainable Food

After the Sustainable Food Trainers had been trained in the implementation phase of the “Train-the-Trainer”-workshops in November 2018 the first trainings of TUI hotel employees took place at TUI Blue Sarigerme Park in Southwestern of Turkey beginning of April. During the training the employees of the F&B department, kitchen and quality management of the three Turkish TUI Blue hotels Sarigerme Park, Marmaris and Palm Garden learned all relevant facts about sustainable cuisine.

The training which was developed in collaboration with all project partners was adjusted to the Turkish context and local characteristics and was held by a local trainer in Turkish.

In the one-day training trainer Hatice did not only give the participants information on how to integrate sustainability in purchasing processes but also how to offer more local and sustainable products at the buffet and how to communicate these to the guests. In addition, the interested participants received valuable information regarding food waste reduction.

Raising awareness among responsible F&B employees for sustainability in hotel catering is the main objective of these trainings. The next Sustainable Food trainings by Futouris will take place in early summer on the Canary Islands and Majorca.
