Arturo Ortiz Arduan Director Turespaña Berlin
Spanisches Fremdenverkehrsamt Berlin
Turespaña, the official Spanish tourism organisation - with 33 branches worldwide, three of them in Germany - joined Futouris with its representation in Berlin in April 2021.
Turespaña's vision is for Spanish destinations to become a model of environmental sustainability and social responsibility within a tourism model that is also economical and profitable.
The tourism of the future must be more sustainable and in balance of all its three dimensions: ecology, social and economy. This will benefit all stakeholders: employees, travellers, locals and the environment.
Tourism can drive destinations towards a more environmentally friendly model which is also fairer for workers and more satisfying for travellers. The needs and concerns of international travellers in particular can be an impetus to address the challenges of environmental change.
At Turespaña, we believe that international travellers help us to create a more respectful environment and a more just, inclusive and diverse society.
In the new strategic marketing plan that Turespaña is currently working on, sustainability is the main pillar, along with digitalisation.
The aim is to ensure that tourism contributes to the creation of quality jobs, the revitalisation of destinations, the mitigation of rural depopulation and the redistribution of wealth in the country, while providing travellers with attractive and environmentally friendly leisure and holiday experiences that are aligned with these goals.
