DER Touristik is the third major tour operator in the German-speaking market next to TUI and Thomas Cook. Six years after the founding of Futouris all major tour operator are now member. DER Tourist will join forces with the other Futouris members, in particular re the implementation of the new industry project. By joining Futouris DER Touristik hopes to gain new inputs for the company. "Joining Futouris is an important step towards a new CSR strategy for DER Touristik," says Sören Hartmann, CEO DER Touristik. "I am convinced that together with all Futourists we will find solutions for the protection of humans, animals and nature, which will give us the right tool for the reorientation of our sustainable corporate development."


Besides TUI and Thomas Cook DER Touristik is the third biggest tour operator on the german-speaking market. "Our Futouris' membership is an important step on the way to a new CSR-strategy", states Sören Hartmann, CEO DER Touristik. "I am convinced that together we will find solutions for the protection of people, animals and nature."

Feasibility study on the creation of a CO2-framework to calculate the carbon footprint of travel offers

DER Touristik is conducting a feasibility study on the creation of a CO2 register which will be developed within the framework of the future Futouris industry project on climate protection. Among other things, already existing methods and tools for calculating the carbon footprint of travel will be compared and requirements evaluated.

Plastic-free holidays on Balearic Islands

Reducing the plastic waste generated by tourism and improving the recycling of unavoidable plastic waste on Balearic Islands – these are the goals of the industry project "Plastic-free holidays on the Balearic Islands" the Futouris members are implementing together with the Government of the Balearic Islands.

Sustainable Food - guest communication

Where does the food that is offered on the buffet come from, how is it produced, is the food on my plate typical for the country? These are questions inwhich more and more travelers are interested.

Avoiding Food Waste, Mediterranean region

Food waste measurements in the participating hotel are carried out in cooperation with United Against Waste e.V. and their waste analysis tool. Based on the findings, a set of recommendations will be developed to promote a more responsible handling of food.

Green Travel Transformation, Germany

In dialogue with the travel industry this project aims at finding ways how to make sustainable travel offers in travel agencies visible and easily bookable.
