Each year, members choose a Futouris Project of the Year. All members participate and set up an extra donation pool. The 2010 winner was the project "Wa(h)l-Heimat " (Whale Homeland), a project that demonstrates just how well contributions from the tourism industry can benefit species conservation.
To support the protection of endangered species in the eastern Mediterranean, in particular nesting sea turtles, the project provided the funding to establish a new foundation and to provide awareness building materials to visitors and hotel operators along Dalyan Beach.
